When evaluating a research-material provider, it’s useful to understand what exists behind the website.
Where are materials stored? Where are labels produced? How are lots tracked? What equipment is used? And where do packaging and fulfillment actually take place?
We took a camera through the JAG Bio Labs facility from front door to back door to show exactly what our operation looks like.
This is the facility—and we’re showing you what happens inside it.
Transcript
This is the building — most peptide companies don’t have one. This is our lobby: in the morning it’s empty, and as the day goes on it fills with hundreds of packages. The postal service picks up here about 2:30, and if your orders come in by noon they go out the same day. If you see companies running a car full of packages to the post office, that’s not a real business — with a real business, the post office comes to you. The next room is where we print and cut our labels: printers that print on chrome or white stock, then two finishers that laminate and cut. The busiest room in the operation is labeling — a wall of printers loaded with different die-cut materials, and machines that handle flat product, round product, all different sizes, including a high-speed labeler running a production run. Back in the shipping area, dozens of customer stores connect into our ShipStation; orders come in all day, we print, pack and ship hundreds of orders a day by UPS and the post office. The fast-moving products live on the pick lines here in the building. This wall is one of our newest sections — a complete inventory we can label, print and ship the same day, all tested, QR-coded and lot-coded. Out back is the building we added in 2022 when we needed more space: air-conditioned and insulated, where pallets come in and product is stored. The unique thing about this business is that you can come in the front door, walk out the back door, and everything’s real.
Starting at the Front Door
The tour begins in our lobby.
Early in the morning, the space may be empty. As the day progresses, outbound packages are staged for carrier pickup as they move through our fulfillment process.
Scheduled carrier pickups help establish the daily workflow throughout the facility, from picking and labeling through final packaging and carrier handoff.
For eligible orders, our operational goal is to process orders received by noon for same-day shipping.
Having fulfillment operations under the same roof allows our team to coordinate production, packaging, and shipping within a centralized workflow.
Where Labels Are Printed and Finished
The next stop is our in-house label-production area.
This room houses commercial printers capable of producing labels on chrome and white stock, along with finishing equipment used for laminating and die-cutting.
The finishing process helps produce durable, professionally finished labels suitable for routine storage, packaging, shipping, and handling.
It’s also the equipment that makes print-on-demand labeling possible.
Rather than requiring a large external label-printing run, approved label files can be maintained digitally and produced in the quantities needed for a particular production run.
This is one of the operational capabilities that allows JAG Bio Labs to accommodate private-label quantities as small as a single vial.
Inside the Production Room
Much of our printing and automated label application takes place within the main production area.
Multiple Epson printers are configured with different label materials and sizes, allowing the team to move between production requirements without repeatedly changing printer configurations.
Across from the printing equipment are automated label applicators designed for different container shapes and production quantities.
Our equipment includes systems for both smaller runs and higher-volume label application.
This broader production infrastructure also supports JAG Bio Labs’ research-material operations. Our research-material labeling and packaging processes benefit from equipment and workflows that have already been incorporated into our established production and fulfillment operation.
The Shipping Operation
Behind the production floor is our primary shipping station.
Our team uses ShipStation as part of a centralized workflow for managing fulfillment across multiple programs.
Materials move through defined steps for picking, documentation, packing, and carrier handoff.
Centralizing these processes allows the production and fulfillment teams to coordinate within the same facility rather than moving materials between separate locations for each stage.
Research-Material Inventory and Lot Traceability
The pick areas are organized to keep frequently accessed inventory readily available to the fulfillment team.
One section of the facility is dedicated to JAG Bio Labs research materials.
Maintaining inventory on site allows labeling, documentation, packaging, and fulfillment processes to take place within our facility.
Lot traceability is an important part of that process.
Each applicable research-material lot undergoes independent laboratory testing and is associated with lot-specific analytical documentation.
Lot-identifying information and QR-code access allow the corresponding Certificate of Analysis to be reviewed for the applicable research-material lot.
That creates a traceable connection between the labeled research material and its associated analytical documentation.
Experienced People Behind the Process
Equipment is only part of a fulfillment operation.
Several members of the JAG team shown throughout the facility tour have worked within our production and fulfillment operations for years.
That experience contributes to consistency across recurring processes such as:
- Printing
- Label application
- Picking
- Packaging
- Lot verification
- Documentation
- Quality-control checks
Automated equipment can improve efficiency and consistency, but experienced team members remain an important part of maintaining established workflows.
The Second Building
The tour continues into our additional warehouse space, which was added in 2022 as our operations expanded.
Together, the facilities comprise approximately 7,000 square feet of operational space.
The warehouse is insulated and air-conditioned, providing a more controlled environment for inventory, materials, packaging, and equipment.
Racking runs throughout the warehouse for organized storage, while forklifts and other material-handling equipment support the movement of larger incoming and outgoing quantities.
This space allows JAG to maintain inventory, packaging materials, equipment, and fulfillment operations within our own facilities.
What to Look for When Evaluating a Research-Material Provider
A facility tour can also provide a useful framework for evaluating research-material operations more broadly.
Consider asking:
- Does the provider operate from an established physical facility?
- Where are research materials stored?
- How are lots identified and tracked?
- Is independent laboratory testing performed on applicable lots?
- Can analytical documentation be independently verified?
- How are labels produced and applied?
- What quality-control procedures are used during labeling and packaging?
- What happens when a research-material lot does not meet established specifications?
- How are materials organized to maintain lot traceability throughout fulfillment?
- Which production and fulfillment processes are performed in-house?
These questions focus on observable processes and documentation rather than relying solely on marketing claims.
A Physical Operation You Can See
The JAG Bio Labs operation occupies approximately 7,000 square feet in Orange Park, Florida.
From research-material storage and lot documentation to label production, packaging, and fulfillment, our goal is to maintain defined processes within an established physical operation.
And we’re willing to show it.
Visitors can see the facility, meet members of the team, and get a firsthand look at the equipment and processes behind JAG Bio Labs.
