How Fast Can You Label 100 Peptide Vials? (And Why Our Minimum Order Is One)

Private-label programs often have minimum production quantities. Those minimums can be influenced by the equipment, printing methods, and production processes behind the program.

At JAG Bio Labs, our in-house equipment allows us to accommodate private-label quantities as small as a single vial.

Rather than simply making that claim, we timed both parts of our labeling process on camera, with a stopwatch in the frame, to show how the process works.

Transcript

Many people want to know how long it takes to label a vial, and we’ve got the machines to do it. It takes about two and a half minutes to do a hundred vials on this particular machine. You can see it doing it right now — I’ll zoom in so you can see how it spins, grabs it, lifts it, puts the label on. Quality is fantastic: they’re perfectly straight every time. So about two and a half minutes for a hundred — and if we need something faster than that, we’ve got higher-speed labeling equipment here as well.

Printing the labels: 100 in 2 minutes 38 seconds

Private-label labels are printed on demand using commercial color-label printing equipment located inside our facility.

For the demonstration, we sent a 100-label print job to the printer and started the clock. The complete run finished in 2 minutes 38 seconds.

How long does it take to print a hundred labels? Let’s see. Okay — send the print job and start the timer. There it is: a hundred done, in two minutes and thirty-eight seconds.

The production time demonstrates an important advantage of our in-house process: labels don’t require a large external printing run.

Instead of maintaining large quantities of preprinted labels for individual designs, approved label files can be stored digitally and printed in the quantities needed for a particular production run.

This gives JAG Bio Labs greater flexibility when accommodating different private-label quantities and label configurations.

Labeling the Vials: 100 in About Two and a Half Minutes

Printing is only the first half of the process.

The second step uses our automated label applicator. The equipment rotates each vial while applying the label consistently around the container.

In our demonstration, 100 vials were labeled in approximately two and a half minutes.

For larger production quantities, JAG Bio Labs also has higher-speed equipment available within our facility.

Together, the printing and application processes allow approximately 100 labels to move from a digital print file to labeled vials in roughly five minutes of machine processing time.

This efficiency allows the same general equipment and workflow to accommodate both small and larger private-label production quantities.

Why In-House Equipment Matters

Minimum production quantities can be influenced by several operational factors.

Outsourced commercial printing may involve minimum print runs or setup requirements. Manual label application can become increasingly labor-intensive as production quantities increase. Maintaining large quantities of preprinted labels can also require additional storage and inventory management.

JAG Bio Labs handles both label printing and label application in-house.

Our commercial label printer and automated application equipment are located within the same facility, allowing our team to maintain greater control over:

  • Print quantities
  • Label updates
  • Production timing
  • Label application
  • Lot-specific information
  • Quality-control procedures

This integrated process is what allows JAG Bio Labs to support private-label quantities ranging from a single vial to larger production runs.

From Artwork to Finished Research-Material Packaging

For approved private-label projects, artwork is maintained digitally and incorporated into our in-house labeling workflow.

The process includes:

  1. Approved artwork is prepared for production.
  2. Labels are printed in-house in the quantity required for the production run.
  3. Lot-specific information is incorporated as applicable.
  4. Labels are applied using automated equipment.
  5. Finished materials move through the applicable packaging and fulfillment process.

Because printing and application are handled within our facility, JAG Bio Labs can accommodate changes in production quantity without requiring a new large-scale external label-printing run.

Each applicable research-material lot also includes traceability information and access to its corresponding Certificate of Analysis from an independent laboratory.

JAG Bio Labs’ private-label services include label design and production, packaging, lot documentation, and research-material fulfillment capabilities.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum quantity for JAG Bio Labs private-label services?

JAG Bio Labs can accommodate private-label quantities as small as a single vial. Labels are printed on demand using our own commercial equipment and applied using automated labeling equipment within our facility.

This eliminates the need for a large external label-printing run before a small production quantity can be processed.

How does print-on-demand peptide labeling work?

Approved artwork is maintained digitally. When labels are required for a production run, the appropriate quantity can be printed in-house.

In our recorded demonstration, our equipment produced 100 labels in approximately 2 minutes 38 seconds.

Because labels are produced as needed, JAG Bio Labs does not need to maintain thousands of preprinted labels for every private-label configuration.

Can JAG Bio Labs accommodate both small and large private-label quantities?

Yes. Our in-house printing and automated label-application equipment allows JAG Bio Labs to accommodate both small and larger production quantities using the same general workflow.

What information can be included with a research-material lot?

Applicable research-material lots can include lot-specific identifying information and access to corresponding analytical documentation, including independent laboratory Certificates of Analysis.
